Ricardo dos Santos’s senseless death has shaken the surf world. After three bullets perforated his lung and kidney, the Brazilian charger died. The altercation leading up to the gunshots happened in Brazil, when an off-duty police officer fired his weapon at Ricardo. While details are still murky, it appears as though he was shot after attempting to stop a group of people from using drugs in public. Social media has seen an outpouring of grief and support.
