The Inertia

Brittany in spring is absolutely lovely. It’s often overshadowed by the famous beach breaks of Hossegor and the reefs and points of the Basque Country. The western part of Brittany, however, offers some pretty consistent surf considering its great exposure to the North Atlantic low-pressure systems. The water can get quite chilly here, so thick wetsuits, booties, gloves, and hoodies are a must. And although this rugged coast is riddled with treacherous currents and strong winds, you can find some sheltered spots and score some empty lineups. Spring time here in Brittany is a bit more tolerable, as the air and water gain a few degrees and conditions clean up. The following gallery features a few images from several spots around Brittany this past spring.
