The Inertia

All signs point to: YES!!! Yet Mark Mathews is reasonable in being unreasonable… if that makes sense. The slabs he charges wouldn’t look appealing on your darkest, most disconnected days, but then again that is why neither you nor I are paddling into said slabs. He, however, has been on the other side of our “reasonable” line for quite some time; therefore, we sort of expect him to do the insane.

But that is not to say we all won’t be sharing those waves in due time. Mark believes that with the advancements in technology, there will be a day soon enough when everyday people — like you and me! — are taking on 60 foot Nazare, buoyed by the safety of vests and whatever else we’ve invented by then. Until then we’ll let him have those waves as we stick to our own.

In the meantime, what will he do next? Mark plans on chasing superstorms into remote regions where nothing but frigid waters, inhospitable conditions, and indigenous locales await. We’re in! (Vicariously, of course.)
