I have a lot of friends who are creative: they film, shoot, write, paint, shape, shred…whatever. It is amazing how much material photographers and filmers have to wade through to show the public the fruits of their toils. One of the perks of this is that I get personalized viewings whenever something new drops.
My dear old buddy Jy Johanessen has been to a plethora of amazing places and events in the last 12 months, and during this time he has accumulated a mountain of footage.
One recent Friday night I had my persuasive hat on, firstly to convince him to save his money and avoid the traps of going to Byron Bay’s ‘big town’ for the night. And secondly, after hours of watching his 2014 stockpile of footage, to get vicious and turn his amazing folio of data into a high-impact visual feast of twenty-something clips.
Bleary eyed, but grinning ear to ear, Jy sauntered the whole twenty meters over from his house to mine and announced proudly: “here she is c**k, whaddaya reckon?” Needless to say I was impressed. So, Whaddaya reckon?
