South Swells and wipe outs at The Wedge go together like JiffPom and Kelly Slater (according to The Inertia’s Instagram). The first South of the year is the West Coast surfer’s version of
Daytona, the Kentucky Derby, and Opening Day rolled into one. It kicks off the “summer is here” bug, promising bareback sessions, road trips, and of course dudes getting smashed by Newport’s mutant wave.
