Brad Domke is a lunatic. A straight-up, bonafide lunatic. Remember that shit in Mexico? Yeah, you do. How could you forget? The guy with no fins just about won an XXL Award for it. The night after the awards show, Brad drove through the night, hopped a plane from Tijuana, and ended up in Puerto with a skimboard and a few Catch Surf soft tops. Then he proceeded to transfer from one to the other, like some kind of finless J.O.B. Here’s what he had to say about it via Instagram:
I saw the forecast for Mexico for the day after the billabong #xxl awards and felt more then ready to get down there for this mission. Drove through the night hopping a plane from Tijuana down to puerto from the awards. I’ve painted this picture in my head for a long time and too actually make it a reality was surreal. I was out there for about 6 hours. broke two @catchsurf soft tops and lots of chasing of my surf and skimboard and trying again and again.To come out of a barrel was the goal obviously. But puerto is one of if not the most challenging wave in the world when it shows its true colors. this was my second day of trying my new favorite sport. To paddle it myself and get in a barrel in #puertoescondido on my #finless skimboard was a huge personal accomplishment.Can’t wait to do more of this and see where it goes!
