Most of us will never quite comprehend the intense emotion surrounding the competition site following Mick’s unfortunate run-in with a great white in the final heat at J-Bay. Some were scared to death while others were relieved. Some were happy; some were sad. Regardless of their reactions, all unanimously agreed the WSL was right to call off the event. There was no way either surfer was going to enter the same lineup that nearly took Mick’s life. While most of us can never grasp the true sentiment that day, perhaps Peter King’s latest #TourNotes can paint a clearer picture.
