It’s official – Bethany Hamilton will join the world’s best women surfers for the upcoming Swatch Pro at Lower Trestles. This will be the Hawaiian’s first appearance in competition since giving birth to her son Tobias Dirks in June. As a top contender in the female field, Bethany will surely give the rest of the girls and WSL rankings leader Courtney Conologue a run for their money.
“Thrilled to accept the wildcard for the Swatch Women’s Pro,” Bethany said. “I have been surfing and competing at Lowers since I was a young girl and love the wave! Looking forward to getting a jersey back on amongst the best!”
As stop No. 7 on the women’s WSL tour, the Swatch Women’s Pro holds a competitive window of September 9th-20th and will be broadcast live at WorldSurfLeague.com. Check out the trailer here:
