Enamored with surfing since he was in diapers on the sunny beaches of Florida, Alek Parker has let the swell charts lead him down his life's path, acquiring a full sponsorship from O’Neill at the age of 12. In 2005, Alek decided to make his first surf movie. Partnering with filmmaker Jerry Ricciotti, the two joined together to make The Best Laid Plans. Spectacular Adventures followed shortly thereafter. Alek then branched off on his own and started a web series titled The Hunt (Following the East Coast Hurricane Seasons). Alek always stayed true to his East Coast heritage with a majority of the cast in his films being East Coast Surfers. After ending his 16 year career surfing for O’neill, a new journey called and he headed west, finding himself in Venice, Ca. Since arriving, he has worked as a Camera Operator Director and Editor for Vice on location in Japan, shot Still Photography for the Museum of Contemporary Art, and served as Producer for many major campaign photo shoots. Today Alek holds the position of Marketing Director at Insight and is still feeding his surf adventure habit with the support from Sanuk.
