Amy is a resident of the Tahoe area and an avid skier and explorer of the mountains. She first moved to Tahoe after her college classes moved online due to Covid-19. She worked as a ski instructor and took her classes from the Palisades Tahoe Village (and sometimes on the chair). Her love for skiing grew, and she continued to hone her skills in the resort and in the backcountry. She continued working as a ski instructor while finishing school at the University of Washington, where she studied Community and Environmental Planning.
Throughout her time in school, she began a Substack blog to share her experience while interning on a farm in Hawaii. Her love for writing grew from there. After graduation, she continued to share her life with friends and family through her Substack while she traveled to New Zealand, worked another season in Tahoe, taught yoga in Australia, and finally moved back to Tahoe for the long haul.
She now works in the marketing department at Palisades Tahoe, organizing events and partnerships for the mountain. You can find her biking around Truckee, skiing the resort, or riding in the backcountry, where she has a special love for those west shore peaks.
