Brett Lyall grew up in the Northeast of the United States where his love and respect for the ocean was cultivated. He moved to San Diego, California for school and has been living there for the past 8 years. Upon graduating college, Brett realized his limited surfing abilities and decided instead to take photographs while his friends surfed. Although he still enjoys surfing, photography provides him with a creative outlet and a way to share memorable moments in the water. In the past year, Brett has been fortunate to travel to places like Nicaragua and Peru to surf and take photographs of beautiful, uncrowded lineups. His portfolio aims to merge the aesthetically pleasing features of waves and landscapes with the athleticism and skill of the surfers.
