Chris Wilcox joined CSIRO as a senior researcher in the Marine and Atmospheric Research Division in 2005. His research focuses on understanding human impacts on ecological systems and developing feasible, cost-effective solutions. He has worked on a wide array of topics including the ecological effects of groundwater withdrawal, fisheries management, eradication of invasive species. His current research focuses in two areas: understanding and ameliorating the impacts of plastic pollution in the ocean and developing analytical tools to support reduction of illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.
