A prolific muralist, ceramicist and installation artist, Ian Ross is a San Francisco-based interdisciplinary artist whose love of the natural world deeply influences his practice. Ian's most recognizable and shared works of late are giant beach drawings done with a rake. By utilizing the smooth surface where the tide has receded, a unique type of ephemeral and impermanent art form thrives. Ian believes that the tool itself, the rake, is a powerful and simple tool that can connect any type of person to the joy of creating in a sustainable manner.
