Jade Eckardt is a freelance writer and editor focused on travel, lifestyle, and the outdoors. She is from Hawaii, where she grew up surfing and living off the grid. She and her son recently relocated to New York where she is still trying to feel comfortable wearing a wetsuit. They spend their free time surfing, fishing, and taking as many surf trips as possible. Jade holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Hawaii. Her work has appeared in numerous regional and national publications, and she is the author of the guidebook, 'Moon Kauai.'
