I was born and raised in Punta Hermosa, Peru where a strong surfing legacy left by my father and friends set a solid surfing culture that influenced my childhood. My dad, Miguel, was a pioneer wave rider in Peru and in Hawaii throughout the 60's, becoming a close friend of surfing legends such as Eddie Aikau, Fred Hemmings, Paul Strauch, Butch Van Artdalen, Greg Noll, Buffalo Keaulana etc. That's why I was thrown into the water at a very early age and the ocean became my way of life. I started to travel at a very young age throughout the ancient ruins of Peru where strarted to take pictures. I met Wes Brown (Bruce Brown's nephew) deep in the Peruvian jungle where we were documenting the healing of US War Veterans using the ancient brews of Ayahuasca and San Pedro. He pushed me into filmmaking, and after meeting him, I started to work on my first surfing film with Peruvian surfers Alvaro Malpartida and DropKnee 2010 World Champion Cesar Bauer. After traveling through Mexico, Indonesia, Chile, Rapa Nui , Peru and Hawaii for almost three years non-stop, we eventually finished the film. Still traveling throughout Southern America.
