Kirk Willcox is a former Tracks magazine editor. As a photojournalist, he has contributed to numerous publications including Rolling Stone, Lonely Planet and the Sydney Morning Herald. He is a current contributor to Surfing World magazine. With Tom Carroll, he co-wrote the two-time world champion’s biography The Wave Within. In the 1980s, Kirk was a co-founder of lobby group Stop The Ocean Pollution (STOP) that helped establish beach and ocean pollution as a leading environmental issue in Australia. A former international marketing/communications manager with Quiksilver, Kirk is currently marketing/communications director for humanitarian organisation SurfAid.
