During the windy days of summer, you can find Mike wing foiling in the San Francisco Bay and Delta. Mike started windsurfing in 1989, worked as a sailmaker in college, and volunteered with junior sailing programs as a parent. During the school year, Mike teaches classes in programming, electronics, and robotics, and advises student projects involving autonomous boats as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the California State University Maritime Academy. Mike finds the rapid evolution of wings and foils for wing foiling to be fascinating and the sport itself to be addictive.
