Miles was born and raised in Northern California with a lust for exploration and travel. Living far from the coast and any drop of surf culture, he picked up a love of photography before he found surfing. After a taste of the glide on a Hawaiian vacation, Miles had found his way to interact with the ocean. Several years living in Santa Barbara cultivated his love and knowledge of surfing and gave him endless inspiration for landscape and surf photography. The people he came to call friends and the place itself continue to be a major inspiration in his photography, surfing and life in general. Miles' roots are in film and the darkroom, so he enjoys employing a number of different cameras and formats in his work as well as shooting digital.
