Nic Vaughan, 23, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He ventured down to San Diego State University for an undergraduate program, where he obtained a degree in Business Finance. And upon completion, he was set to start a career with Morgan Stanley working in Asset Management. On the eve on his suit-wearing days, Nic decided to make one last strike mission to Puerto Escondido. It was this trip that changed his life forever—a searing memory staring down into the pit of Greg Long's 2013 XXL Ride of the Year winning wave. In that instance, Nic decided there was no way he could take the corporate path. Instead, he absolutely had to chase his dream of pushing the limits in big-wave surfing.
