Rene hails from Santa Barbara, California. She has a passion for diving and spent time working as a dive guide on the Isla de Cozumel in Mexico. She feels a close connection to the planet - from the mountains to the sea. She loves writing about everything from macadamia nuts and sustainability to frolics in Ecuadorian jungles. She currently works for an environmental non-profit called Save the Mermaids and is always planning her next big adventure.
