Spence has been shooting for about 10 years, but it's only been in the last six years or so that he began contributing to various surf publications and developed a cliental. He's not the photographer who likes to chase only the top surfers. Rather, a good swell with surfers he trusts suffices. His favorite photos come from heavy waves (more often that not) and he likes to shoot from the water in most conditions. A few of his favorite locations are right in his home country of Australia.
