Tara Tiedemann lives in Guatemala, Central America and owns and operates the tour and travel company, Viva Adventures. She also is a freelance writer and photographer, highlighting the people and places she visits while traveling and sharing insight, thoughts, and feelings, on the sports she loves. Before opening Viva Adventures in 2012, Tara served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sustainable Community Tourism in Guatemala from 2010-2012, working in a remote coffee and macadamia farm on Guatemala’s Pacific Slope. After crafting custom trips for friends and family that visited her as a volunteer, she decided to turn that idea into a business venture and the company was born. Prior to Peace Corps, Tara worked in the ski and snowboard industry for nearly a decade, and came to surf later in life, searching for that adrenaline rush that skiing and snowboarding brought. Surf fit that bill perfectly. She is enjoying the challenge of learning the sport and having fun with all the new friends that come along with it.
