For better or worse, when people think Haydenshapes they think the Hypto Krypto. Makes sense. It was one of the top selling surfboards in the world for a number of years. And the thing’s versatility makes it a great pick for a travel board, or a one board quiver.
But Hayden Cox ain’t no one trick pony. He’s been shaping for over twenty years. And he’s constantly pushing design in new directions.
Case in point, Haydenshapes’ newest board offering the Plunder, which can be ridden as a single fin, a 2 + 1, or a quad. It’s the same versatility that made the Hypto Krypto famous, especially in small waves, that’s being applied here, and it looks pretty rad. “A versatile and modern classic designed to make ultra shitty waves pleasurable for all,” says the video description. “It’s a board with a tendency to reap rich rewards in dismal conditions.”
In the edit above, the Haydenshapes team puts the Plunder to the test.
