Burton clothed em’. Toyota wants to transport em’. Done. After Burton Snowboards created the new Olympic unis for the U.S. Snowboard Team, Toyota decided to create a custom RAV4 in honor of the squad (still in qualifying) for the 2018 Olympics in South Korea.
Burton unveiled the unis last night in New York City. And if they’re looking a little spacey, that’s because they were literally influenced by the American space program. This year’s games include halfpipe, slopestyle and for the first time ever, big air.
Toyota, in turn, teamed with Burton on a custom build for the new 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure Grade. The white matte wrap, gold-tinted windows, gold wheels with off-road tires and a custom roof rack make the SUV look like it’s ready for moon travel. Or a slog up to the hill through three feet of pow.
Why is Toyota so involved, you might ask? The jump into the snow segment the last few years is partly thanks to the car company’s “Start Your Impossible,” campaign. It’s a sponsorship of both the Olympic and Paralympic Games to help market Toyota’s mobility products. Find out more, here.
