When you go to the aquarium, you don’t expect to see REAL nature. You expect to see a bunch of sad creatures penned up for our entertainment. But at the COEX Aquarium in South Korea, visitors got a little more than they expected.
They noticed first that a young bandit shark was missing. Shortly after, they spotted it, but it wasn’t swimming around like it was supposed to be–it was firmly jammed in the mouth of an 8-year-old female tiger shark.
According to reports, the tiger shark swam around placidly for 21 hours, slowly eating its prey. Officials at the aquarium didn’t spot the attack in time, and weren’t able to do anything to save the bandit shark. They said that since sharks are territorial animals, the attack was most likely a turf war, of sorts.
