Shark hysteria is at an all time high in SoCal. But for every bit of breaking news we publish regarding the latest in the SoCal shark saga, a number of erudite commenters point out that all else equal, crocs elicit more fear than their gray counterparts.
Being that Southern California doesn’t have much of a crocodile problem, it’s often hard to empathize with our friends in Florida (who have alligators, too!), Mexico, Africa, India, Indonesia, and Australia. But this most recent bit of evidence – a croc casually (and contently?) swimming with its recent catch, a 1,500lb cow – is terrifying.
We’ll resist posing the question who would win in a fight, a shark or a croc? But seeing how nonchalant this guy is with his dinner really makes you wonder how much damage a crocodile could do in a lineup.
