Say what you will about sport fishing, but even ardent sport-fisherman would probably agree that using a drone to hook a fish is uncouth. Yet, with the impressive volume of jackasses in this world with cameras available to document their jackassery, it was bound to happen. And, of course, there’s video.
Apparently knowing a small blacktip shark was just offshore, these doofuses baited their line and used a drone to deliver the bait to precisely the spot the shark was in. As expected, the fish took the bait and was reeled in. Congratu-fucking-lations.
Yes, they removed the hook. Yes, they promptly released the shark.
Sure, they were only trying to have a couple hoots. And it’s possible they would have hooked the shark without the drone. Yet, doesn’t it kind of go against the spirit of sport fishing to use a drone to find and land your quarry?
