After welcoming two of the most talented young climbers in the world to the CLIF team, we thought it only right to get them somewhere beautiful, challenging and out climbing together. In partnership with Sender Films, Big Up Productions and CLIF Bar, and with the input from both Kai Lightner (@kailightner) and Ashima Shiraishi (@ashimashiraishi), we landed on a remote cave on the fjords of Central Norway in the region of Flatanger.
First discovered and established for climbing some 25 years ago, Hanshallaren Cave in Strom, Norway has become a favorite spot for none other than arguably the world’s best sport climber Adam Ondra. Adam has climbed and established more 5.15s than anyone in the world and this cave in particular is home to a number of his projects and first ascents. So with Kai and Ashima now in the land of the midnight sun, we are eager to see what they make of the cave and their experience there together. As a follow up from the trip we will be putting out a video this fall and more photos are sure to follow as some of the climbs begin to go and the adventures unfold.
