Here’s to all the rad dads out there. Photo: Filios Sazeides

The Inertia

Sunday will be my first Father’s Day as a dad. And it’s true what they say about parenthood – it’s hard to appreciate a dad’s love for his kid and all the work it takes to be a parent (shout out to my wife, who’s the real heavy lifter) until you’ve got ankle biters of your own. In the same way, you never know what makes a great Father’s Day gift until you’re a dad. For me, bliss sounds like a two-hour nap. Maybe in a hammock, if I’m lucky.

Whether your dad is a griller, chiller, or shredder (or all three), we took the liberty of curating a short list of rad-dad gift ideas that are dad-certified.

Changing ponchos are the surf innovation nobody asked for – but once you use one you’ll never go back. A hood keeps a cold, wet head out of the elements after a session and there are no worries about an accidental towel-around-the-waist malfunction in the parking lot.
