The Inertia

Your core is the foundation of your balance. Whether you’re surfing, snowboarding, or skiing, your core muscles work to stabilize and support your limbs, spine, and upper body. Therefore, if you’re looking to perform your personal best without getting injured, it’s absolutely essential to maintain a strong core. If the core becomes weak, the rest of the body becomes vulnerable to over-rotations and over-extensions, which translates into you being stuck on the couch.

No matter your level of skill, you need to do a little extra work to build those core muscles. This workout offers a super quick 10 minute ab workout that couldn’t be easier to squeeze into your day. All you need is 10 minutes and a mat. If you can make it through this video a couple times a week, your core will definitely be surf/snow ready. The video is very challenging, and it features a 20 seconds on/ 10 seconds off format. The most important thing is that you perform the exercises safely and correctly. If you need to take more time in between sets or can’t last the whole 20 seconds for a particular move, that’s perfectly fine. Consider it something to work toward. Don’t risk pushing too hard and injuring yourself. Now get to it!
