The Inertia

It’s Cinco de Mayo, and that means the margaritas are calling. While the marg is all too often knocked as either too sugary or too syrupy, this simple recipe gets the margarita back to it’s roots: tequila and lime. Try mixing this marg up at home. You’ll save money from buying pricey drinks at bars, and you’ll save calories too. This drink has only 144 calories per serving, and it’s sure to quench your thirst this Thursday.

Ingredients

Ice

1.5 oz of 100% agave blanco tequila

1 oz fresh lime juice

1/2 oz Cointreau

Method

-Salt the rim of a cocktail glass (if desired) and fill the glass with ice.

-Add more ice, tequila, lime juice, and Cointreau to a cocktail shaker. Shake until the ingredients are chilled, then strain into the serving glass.

-Top with a couple slices of lime and enjoy!

Note: add a small amount of agave syrup if this recipe is too tart for you.
