The Inertia

The weather in parts of Europe has been fairly wicked lately, with places like Spain experiencing flash flooding after some wet weather. In Liétor southeast of Madrid, cars and vans have been pushed everywhere by flowing water, even into rivers. This van is sent into a pour-over hydraulic and thrown around like a tourist raft. There’s is nothing more scary than flowing water. Especially high, flowing water.

When a raft or kayak punches through a big hole on a river, it can be a serious endeavor. That shows how strong this raging creek is: the van has too much volume (and not nearly enough speed) to make it through this powerful river feature.
