Oh yeah, winter does that, too. Wind is part of the mountain life. Sometimes it helps fill in those little nooks with powder and butter up an otherwise powder-less run. But sometimes it does this, in terrifying fashion. This is in the Argentinian Andes at Cerro Catedral ski resort a few days ago, when a wind event sent chairs flying all over the place.
Wind can be kind of crazy anywhere but apparently, there’s been some carnage in Argentina in the last few years. This from 2014:
