Authorities are Searching for an Experienced Skier Who Went Missing at California's Northstar Resort

Rory Angelotta went missing on Christmas Day.

Rory Angelotta, a 43-year-old skier who moved to Truckee, Calif. from Colorado has been missing somewhere in the area of Northstar Resort since Christmas Day. Angelotta works at a ski shop at Northstar. The resort was closed Sunday so the search is expected to continue today.

The skier was reportedly headed up the Comstock Lift Saturday at around 11:30 a.m. when he was last seen. He was also scheduled to have dinner with friends but never showed up and authorities said his car was still in the parking lot. Angelotta was reportedly an experienced skier who was carrying avalanche equipment but search and rescue hasn’t found any sign of the man thus far in what has been stormy conditions.
