Many of us don’t know a lot about the data used to keep track of climate change. Or we make claims based on other people’s records. We’ve never gotten our hands dirty—or even snowy—in order to really speak from a place of knowledge on the subject of global warming.
But billy barr has. Yeah, his name is supposed to have two lowercase letters. Because that’s how he likes it. And this legend has earned the right to spell his name however he chooses. For the past 40 years, billy has lived in his cabin in Gothic, Colorado near Crested Butte, a remote outpost where he has recorded snow data like perhaps no one else. And he has some incredible data regarding the change in our winters.
So I’m not going to use his stats to preach. I’m going to let him humbly tell you what we all suspect. Because when billy speaks about changing weather patterns and the way winter has shifted, you know it comes from a place of deep-rooted knowledge. Especially after watching this film.
