Nature. It kinda blows me away that in some of the biggest metropolitan areas in the United States, there’s still these radical animals just outside the front door. Literally, right outside the front door.
This large mountain lion killed a deer in the yard of Peter Rauenbuehler recently. He lives in Hillsborough, south of San Francisco. Rauenbuehler’s dogs went crazy in the early morning hours, scratched and barked at the door, then apparently whimpered back into a corner of the house once they realized what was sitting on the porch. Rauenbuehler and his wife heard what sounded like a crunch in their yard earlier. “We’d heard a large cracking sound; we thought it was a tree limb. In retrospect, it was probably the deer’s neck,” Rauenbuehler told the Los Angeles Times.

The lion grabbed the deer and drug it away as soon as the couple turned the lights on, illuminating the porch.
Mountain lions, great white sharks, anything on the food chain large enough, and powerful enough, to take us out, still grabs my attention. Any headline like this that floats by my Facebook feed…..click. Most of you are probably on the same page.
