Welp, that doesn’t add up…

The Inertia

The world stopped accusing reality TV of portraying anything close to reality a long time ago. The producers of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives could have at least tried a little harder on this one though, and they’re getting plenty of well-earned online smoke for this fumble.

The social media team at Deer Valley is calling the show out for what is obviously a staged snowboarding moment. The scene in question shows two cast members greeting one another after one of them (I don’t know names here, I don’t watch the show. Sorry.) is allegedly coming off the slopes. He’s struts into frame with a board that has zero melted snow/ice, decked out head to toe in black winter gear accented by a pink beanie and goggles still on his head. It doesn’t seem all that cold, of course, because the woman greeting him is wearing a sleeveless top and denim mini skirt.

Is it the dead of winter? Is she dressed for Coachella? What’s going on here?

“How’s skiing?” she asks, either flubbing her line or not knowing the difference between a snowboard and skis.

“It was fun. I’ve never been up here to Deer Valley,” he says.

Welp, those first observations may have flown right by a handful of people at first but for anybody in the know, Deer Valley is (in)famously a skiers-only resort. They are so serious about it that the “ski-only resort experience” is one of their three brand pillars declared on the resort’s website.

“WE NEED ANSWERS,” Deer Valley hilariously said in its caption.
