Eric Jackson gets fulfillment from two primary sources. In his own words, snowboarding is his adrenaline-filled rush. Fishing for steelhead, on the other hand, is where he finds rest. And the art of striking that perfect balance between adrenaline junkie and angler is the subject of his new film “Alignment” from Transworld Snowboarding.
Filmed entirely in Northern British Columbia, the film follows Eric Jackson, John Jackson, Curtis Ciszek and friends as they spend an entire season living in a cabin outside Terrace, BC exploring the region’s mountains and wild rivers.
“Alignment…” narrates Jackson in the intro to the film. “How do you find it? How do you get to that point where everything seems to work together and you’re at your best?”
The question is a fair one. Hell, it’s been asked in one form or another since the dawn of mankind. For Jackson and friends, though, the pursuit of personal fulfillment through connecting with the wild places of BC seems to offer some clue. And man is this a pretty film for viewers to live vicariously through, too.
If you’re a snowboarder, you’re bound to love this film. If you’re a hobby angler, you’re bound to love it, too.
