The stuff Henrik Harlaut does in the air is so difficult for the untrained eye to understand. Mainly because it’s done so smoothly and with such grace that he makes each trick look simple. But none of them are simple. Harlaut has become a freeskiing icon. Not only for his six X Games golds but for his classic response to a reporter at the Sochi Games: “Wu-Tang is for the children.”
The film project (The Regiment) above has been two years in the making for Sweden’s favorite freeskiing son. And it personifies his approach as one of the most diverse in the sport: he can charge Alaskan spines as easily as he competes in slopestyle events. And that diversity of skill is what makes great skiers. Harlaut is one of the best alive.
