Van Life as we know it just took a hit. What started out as an organic pursuit to play harder, and stay near where you play, close to the surf break or mountains, has turned into an all-out retirement plan. A German brand known as HYMER released this concept video late this summer of a new vehicle that turns van life on its head – and seemingly makes it accessible only to the ritzy retirement set (what are your guesses on the cost of this thing?)
Here’s HYMER’s rundown on its new vehicle built on a Mercedes frame:
Innovation meets vision – With the VisionVenture concept vehicle on a Mercedes-Benz chassis developed together with BASF, we are breaking new ground in terms of design, self-sufficiency and lightweight construction. It shows what modern travel can look like in 2025. The concept car combines our pioneering spirit and innovative strength with more than 20 innovative materials from BASF and provides a forward-looking answer to current and future trends in the industry.
It’s definitely a glamorous-looking future. But perhaps one none of us can afford.
