The Inertia

It goes without saying that we exist in a mostly urban, often sedentary world. Overwhelming research suggests that the stresses of time spent indoors staring at screens can be remedied by a little time in the great outdoors. But, not all cities are designed to support time outside.

In episode two of “In Our Nature,” host Erin Sullivan investigates what it means that our society spends most of its time inside and looks at efforts by some cities to build out natural spaces so residents can connect with nature and briefly escape the city.
