In the middle of a long winter, there’s not much that can top a ski trip with friends to the cozy mountain town of Eden, Utah to ride Powder Mountain. (Except maybe a surf trip to Central America!) PowMow is a magical place, one that I keep coming back to because it’s always so much fun and has the best snow ever!
In March of this year, we launched goFlow Snow, so that snowboarders and skiers the world over can upload their favorite trails and mountains from their mobile phones and connect with fellow riders on goFlow.
We partnered with the team at Powder Mountain to run a one-month photo competition titled “Make Winter Count,” asking participants to upload their favorite photo in the last month of the ski season and upload it to goFlow. The photo contest was judged by pro surfer Ian Walsh and pro skier/curator for Summit Series, Langley McNeal. The grand prize winner received a free 2015-2016 Season Pass to Powder Mountain.
We had a tough time choosing the best photo. Our runner’s up prize goes to Man N Nicci, who made winter count their seemingly endless fresh tracks.

In the end, we chose this awesome moment captured by skier Ben Michaels as the winning photo. I love the flow of the movement, the radical maneuver, the color of his gear, and the splash of the snow. In fact, it reminds me of a surf image set in snow. And you can tell that the rider has found his perfect flow.
