Tom Wallisch took some 100 tries to set this world record rail slide of 424 feet, fighting through crappy weather, and engineering challenges that required tons of metal to be shipped in to create the perfect set up up. Not to mention a large crew to weld it together. The 28-year-old Wallisch is a Pittsburgh native, X Games gold medalist and an innovative freeskier who’s just damn fun to watch on film. This record may be obscure. But that doesn’t mean it was easy.
