Actually, how could slacklining in Hawaii not be beautiful? Everything about the place is beautiful. But Step Out, a short film from Andrew Agcaoili, just highlights that beauty from a different perspective. Agcaoili summons the help of slackers Joshua Lambus, Jeramiah Morgan, Ben Wigglybridge, Alyssa Kratz, Jesse Smalling, Greg Chavdarian and Gretchen Gerlach as they set a pair of highlines in two beautiful locales on the Big Island: South Point (Kalae) and a private waterfall along the Hamakua Coast, according to Agcaoili.
“I met Josh a couple years ago when I was shooting a video over on the Big Island,” he told The Inertia. “The slacklining community in Hawaii is small but growing. This particular group is all from the island of Hawaii.”
There are a number of climbing and bouldering areas on the islands and slacklining is usually an extension of the climbing community. Walking a narrow piece of webbing above a waterfall or small bay does not seem out of place here.
