The Inertia

A group of skiers and snowboarders being led by American guide David Marchi were skiing a fun-looking ridge line in Gulmarg, Kashmir during what looks like great snow conditions when they catch the sight of a lifetime: a snow leopard appears in the snow in front of the group, then semi-chases a skier sitting lower down the slope beyond the cameras lens. Well, more like runs by the skier, but still pretty incredible.

The snow leopard is endangered and their numbers are dwindling with an estimated 4,000 left in the wilds of central Asia in countries like Nepal, India and China. They’re hardy cats, living at elevations above 9,000 feet.

Footage by Bill’s Trips, who by the way, looks like he has a pretty sweet operation in the Kashmir Valley.
