Every year mountain passes open up giving skiers and riders easier access to spring snow – think Tioga Pass in California, or places like Mount Evans in Colorado, above. Which is where we found this bit of inspiration: 82-year-old Jim Orofino is the perfect example of what staying stoked your whole life looks like. Each season he makes the trek to Mount Evans, one of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks, to ride the backcountry with friends. Last season, Orofino even had to be harnessed in so he could rappel down to his line on the peak west of Denver. Here’s hoping we’re all this stoked come our eighty-second year.
