The Inertia

Yikes! This skier, identified only as Lukas, was skiing a backcountry run in the Jeseniky Mountains in the Czech Republic, when the slope he was on completely gives way, knocking him off his feet and taking him for a slide for life. Lukas grabs tree branches and brush, anything to self-arrest during the slide. This is a perfect example of why airbags–that now come in backpacks–are a good idea in the backcountry.

Only the best. We promise.
