The Inertia

For ten years, I’ve made short films on different outdoor activities and specifically, around the sports of speedflying and speedriding.

Like many directors, I try to take a new look with new points of view. Because too often risk has replaced creativity at the expense of pilot safety. It is, in a way, the antithesis of “extreme” videos.

Two of the most interesting new tools, in my opinion, are drones and the spherical cameras. The drones offer particularly dynamic shots that allow us to do things that were only part of virtual reality before. Spherical cameras offer a very interesting editing freedom as well, especially when embedded.

It is with this in mind that, along with Dob Durden, I’ve embarked on an ambitious process for two years. The goal was to give a new perception of speedflying. A first attempt was partially successful last year with Red Fpv for drone shots. Beautiful images had been made but in very bad weather conditions and in a very limited time.

This year we were able to reach the goal, on the one hand by implementing a spherical camera and on the other by collaborating with Martin Bochatay, the rising star of professional shooting in drone racing. We took advantage of very good weather slots to film in a beautiful environment near Chamonix in France.

Dob Durden, whose passion and commitment to this activity is constantly reaffirmed and who is also an official GIN pilot, is accompanied by Antoine Pelletier and Matthieu Vigier in elegant and aesthetic aerial evolutions.

So this is “LIMITLESS”, speedflying as you have never seen it.
