Leif and Natalie Anderson seem to have an incredible relationship. They’re both pro kayakers who travel North America doing what they love. Right now, they’re based on the Slave River in Canada’s Northwest Territories. It’s a giant river with incredibly large features that make for perfect surf waves. But not all of them are friendly.
The Anderson’s relationship is so solid, Leif can hilariously narrate a video of his wife getting absolutely pummeled in a wave on the infamous river. Natalie takes a massive beatdown. And then another. And they’re still married.
Paddlers can usually ferry across the whitewater–or hole–portion of this wave called Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em to make it to the green, open face. “Sometimes you can make it past the penalty box onto the good part of the wave really easy,” Leif told us. “But sometimes… not so much.”
