The Inertia

That was entirely too close. During a mixup in the landing sequences as part of the F1 National Championships in Reno, Nevada last weekend, airplane pilot Thom Richard had the shell of his cockpit shaved clean off the plane as a pilot behind him cut into him with his wing. It added a bit of unwanted excitement to the national title chase. “I knew my hand was busted and was not looking forward to removing my glove,” he said. “But it was more important to make sure I had not been struck in the head or hurt my neck or back. After assessing my situation I realized I did not have any further injuries and proceeded to shut the switches off and assist with un-strapping myself from the wreckage.” Not a fun experience, obviously.
